What is the attendance policy?
Weekly Homeroom Attendance questions open every Monday at 12:00 am and close Fridays at 11:59 pm.
Missed attendance questions need to be excused by contacting your teacher within 4 days of the deadline (ie by Tuesday).
If your student has an academic meeting with their Garfield Online teacher during the week, your student will be marked present for the week.
If your student misses the weekly question you will receive an email from the Garfield Online Secretary (gosecretary@garfk12.org).
If your student misses two consecutive weeks of attendance you will receive an email from the Garfield Online Secretary requiring action. If no response is given, your student will be at risk of being 10-day dropped, according to Utah state law.

What is the importance of completing grade-level work?
Grade-level work helps ensure your student builds the necessary skills and knowledge expected at each stage of their education. It helps prepare them for future academic challenges and career opportunities by maintaining a consistent learning progression. Engaging with grade-level material promotes confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
What is the difference between a full curriculum and a supplemental?
Full Curriculum: A comprehensive set of materials designed to cover all subjects and grade levels needed for a full school year. It’s essentially a “one-stop-shop” for homeschooling parents, providing everything from instruction and assessment to lesson plans and resources.
Supplemental: Supplemental curriculum refers to extra learning materials and activities that enrich and reinforce core concepts taught in the regular curriculum. It can include digital programs, hands-on activities, and targeted practice materials, often used to personalize or differentiate learning for students. Think of it as the “fixings” on a learning “cheeseburger,” complementing the main course.
